ClearCorrect
Crooked or misaligned teeth affect the symmetry and aesthetic appearance of your smile. These orthodontic problems can also harm your oral health because a crooked bite can cause painful malocclusion, temporomandibular joint disorder, and even make it difficult to keep your teeth and gums adequately clean.
At Gerda Family Dental, we offer teeth straightening treatment to our patients with both Invisalign and ClearCorrect teeth aligning systems.
What Is ClearCorrect?
ClearCorrect is a type of teeth straightening system that uses clear aligner trays to gently and gradually shift a patient’s teeth into the desired location and arrangement.
What Orthodontic Concerns Can ClearCorrect Address?
ClearCorrect can be used to address the following orthodontic concerns:
- Crooked, turned, or rotated teeth
- Crowded teeth
- Spaces between teeth (tooth gaps)
- Malocclusion
- Underbite
- Overbite
ClearCorrect is a great solution for treating minor to moderate orthodontic issues. More severe or complex cases of misalignment or malocclusion might require treatment with different methods.
The Process of Teeth Straightening With ClearCorrect
Teeth straightening with ClearCorrect begins with a consultation and examination to first determine whether or not a patient is a candidate for this teeth straightening method.
Dr. Gerda then takes a digital scan of the patient’s mouth and submits this, along with the patient’s information, to ClearCorrect. The company then evaluates the patient’s current alignment and desired results to design and manufacture a personalized teeth straightening system of clear aligner trays.
The patient then receives their first set of aligner trays that can be removed at mealtimes and to brush their teeth. Otherwise, the trays should be worn at all other times to achieve the desired results.
The patient wears each set of trays for about two weeks. Once the teeth have been adequately shifted, we schedule a follow-up appointment to scan the patient’s mouth again. We submit the updated scan to ClearCorrect to receive the next set of aligner trays in the patient’s straightening system.
This process continues until the patient’s teeth are completely aligned and the desired results are achieved. All in all, teeth straightening with ClearCorrect can require a few to several months, depending on the degree of starting misalignment and the shifting needed to achieve the desired alignment. On average, patients achieve their desired results within about six months.
Why Choose ClearCorrect for Your Teeth Straightening Treatment?
ClearCorrect offers several benefits over traditional metal braces. With the system of clear aligner trays, patients can discreetly straighten their teeth. Additionally, clear aligner trays are less visible than metal braces. They are also more comfortable, allow patients to continue eating all of their favorite foods, and can be removed for brief periods, such as for meals.
Is ClearCorrect Right for You?
Teeth straightening with ClearCorrect is intended for patients with minor to moderate teeth-straightening needs. Additionally, it is not recommended for patients younger than 16 because strict compliance with wearing the clear aligner trays is absolutely necessary for the ClearCorrect system to work.
